2026 benefit options

Four options. Full PMB protection on every one.

Stratum keeps its product range deliberately simple. You choose your network, your level of day-to-day cover and your hospital access — the statutory protection never changes.

Every numerical limit must ultimately be supported by actuarial costing and the final registered scheme rules.

Contribution model

Income-banded contributions

Contribution differences may be based on income, the number of dependants, or both — never on your age or your state of health. Stratum uses three income bands so that lower-earning households pay less for the same statutory protection.

  • Band 1 — household income up to R12 500 per month
  • Band 2 — R12 501 to R22 000 per month
  • Band 3 — above R22 000 per month

Stratum Saver

A medical savings account, done properly

A dedicated savings option will be introduced once the risk pool and claims experience justify it. No more than 25% of total gross contribution may be allocated to a medical savings account, and PMB obligations remain protected even when a day-to-day or savings balance is exhausted.
